MEET ISABELLE
A young voice for care closer to home.
Isabelle has turned her own experience into a thoughtful call for better children's healthcare in Canberra.

I recently had an amazing mum reach out to me whose daughter, Isabelle, has ongoing haematology issues and, like so many Canberra families, regularly travels to Sydney for medical care.
Isabelle has taken her own experience and turned it into something incredibly thoughtful. As part of a school competition, she wrote a piece about why Canberra should have a dedicated and comprehensive children’s hospital, one that includes the specialist services our children and families need, including paediatric oncology and haematology.
What struck me most is that Isabelle isn’t just writing about a healthcare issue. She’s writing about something she has experienced herself, and about what she believes children in Canberra and the surrounding region deserve.
I’m so proud to share her words here and give Isabelle a voice in this conversation.
Please take a moment to read Isabelle’s piece below and show this incredible young advocate some support.

CARE CLOSER TO HOME
Young people deserve a voice in the future of their healthcare.
Isabelle’s story is a powerful reminder that this campaign is about real children, real families and the community they call home.
